Online resources for the land-based sector
The University of Reading's School of Agriculture, Policy and Development (SAPD), on behalf of the LLN, has developed a suite of online tools and teaching resources to aid students in bridging the gap between school/college and university. These resources comprise the following:
| TOOL | ||
| Woodland Survey | ||
| Glucose Assay | ||
| Invertebrate sampling | ||
| Molarity calculation tool | ||
| Good Academic Practice | ||
| Ethical Clearance | ||
| Farm to Fork | ||
| Presentation of Statistics | ||
| Dissection of the Lamb | ||
| Dissection of the Piglet | ||
| Major Organs of the Lamb and Piglet | ||
| Behaviour of African Wild Animals | ||
| Introduction to Debating |
These resources have been made available to staff in the LLN partner colleges working in the land-based sector. They have also been made available to the sector more widely via the organisations, colleges and universities who are directly and indirectly associated with the national AgriSkills Forum (this comprises about 50 organisations).
Although dissemination has been by supplying actual discs or USB memory cards, with longer-term maintenance and costs in mind, the resources may be downloaded directly from the SAPD website . If electronic-media copies are preferred then these may be requested by emailing landbasedresources@reading.ac.uk with details of name, organisation, postal address and a brief description of intention of use (e.g. level 4 Animal Management teaching session).
