Staff development

This was a critical area of work for the LLN in terms of sustainability. It was recognised that work in this area had the potential to produce long-term results through impact on individuals and culture change in partner and stakeholder organisations.

Associated College Partnership conference 'Enhancing the Student Experience'

The Partnerships team at the ACP conference

In January 2011 the LLN funded and supported a well-received Oxford Brookes Associated College Partnership (ACP) staff development conference on 'Enhancing the Student Experience'.

The conference featured the newly-developed ACP website, also funded by the LLN.

 

Bursary scheme for staff delivering HE in FE
A bursary scheme was initiated in 2010-11 for staff delivering HE in FE colleges and was a direct result of an earlier survey aiming to find out how satisfied staff were with the amount of opportunity they had to access CPD and what sort of things would enable them to take more advantage of CPD opportunities

14-19 Diplomas as Routes to HE
Lunchtime seminars aimed at helping staff at the University of Reading engage with the new 14-19 Diplomas as potential progression routes to HE

CPD survey of HE staff in FE
Survey of staff involved in the delivery of HE at our partner colleges aimed at assessing current and potential demand for professional development to support excellence in the delivery of, and support for, HE in the FE context

Professionalising Admission to Higher Education in Further Education
Conference designed to raise awareness and a better understanding of current practices within the HE admissions process

Bespoke Open Day for staff from local FE colleges with land-based interests. The purpose of the day was to build and extend links between the University of Reading and local partner FE colleges.
