PROJECT SUMMARY
Progress South Central funded the Surrey Care Association to explore the potential for developing a graduate trainee scheme for Adult Social Care in Surrey. The initial work focussed on two main areas - the National Skills Academy (NSA) scheme and how this works; and generic schemes offered in other sectors. The work sought to identify the value of a formalised link with NSA, as opposed to a local scheme. It included the identification of partner organisations - such as Surrey University, Job Centre Plus, and a detailed outline of any proposed scheme with a costing model and sustainability strategy.
