PROJECT SUMMARY
Progress South Central funded a feasibility study and development of the course content for a new Foundation degree in Costume and Fashion, now renamed Costume for Stage and Screen.
The course aimed to develop skills and knowledge appropriate within an educational framework and supported by the identified needs of industry, to offer a relevant learning experience which will equip students to enter employment in the costume industries as, for example, costume design assistant, costume maker or costume assistant in the film, television and theatre industries.
There was a delay in the final completion of the course documentation post-audit due to a staff resignation at the College, but the programme has now been successfully validated.
IMPACT
The programme has now been successfully validated by Bucks New University, though recruitment of the first cohort is currently on hold.
