PROJECT SUMMARY

In 2010 Progress South Central provided expertise for the development of a web resource for Foundation degree students by the Centre for Career Management Skills at the University of Reading, as part of the development of a wider career learning resource. The pages are still available on the University of Reading web site as part of the 'Destinations' package.

The Foundation degree material is available here. The material consists of two topics: Managing the student experience and Building on your foundation degree. It draws on original research with Foundation degree students and comprises a total of 16 pages of advice and information.

IMPACT

As of July 2010, 60 HEIs in the UK, Ireland, Holland and Australia have acquired the licence to use Destinations®. Until May 2010 the Foundation material was available to these HEIs free as an optional add-on. The current version of Destinations® (version 3.0) has incorporated the FD material into the core content. The CCMS operates a sliding scale of charges which makes the cost much cheaper for FE colleges than universities. Additionally, the content of the Foundation degree section has been made freely available to Progress South Central's partners for educational purposes.
